Boxing has been with me since childhood – and it has taught me far more than techniques and titles.
It taught me what it means to work with discipline and persistence, to see setbacks as opportunities, and to never lose faith in my goals. These experiences shaped me not only as an athlete but also as a person.
Today, I pass on exactly this knowledge: as a coach, mentor, and companion for those who want to push their limits and unlock their full potential.
My path
My journey began early: at the age of ten I joined SG Aufbau Altentreptow. Two years later, I moved to the elite sports school in Schwerin – an environment that shaped me and taught me what it truly means to persevere.
From the very beginning, boxing was more than just a sport to me: it was discipline, character, and determination.
Out of 151 fights, I won 129, became multiple German Champion, competed in international tournaments, and earned medals at European Championships – before turning professional in 2004.
In 2007, I became WBO Intercontinental Champion, and in 2009 I reached my greatest success: WBC World Champion in Middleweight.
I was fortunate to learn from outstanding coaches who taught me the many facets of boxing in different ways. Boxing is incredibly versatile – and every boxer and coach has their own style.
What I know today: every style can lead to success, if it is pursued with clarity and brought to perfection. That’s what I help my athletes achieve.
During my active career – both amateur and professional – I was never knocked out. Not because I was invincible, but because I was always prepared.
I know what mental strength, clarity, and timing mean in the ring – and I pass on exactly those lessons today.
Education
After my active career, I deepened my knowledge systematically:
As a coach, I have guided many young athletes to national and international success, with medals at European and World Championships. I also coach the Bundesliga team of BC Traktor Schwerin – one of the most successful boxing clubs in Germany.
Lecturer in Elite Sports
In addition to coaching, I work as a lecturer in the state sports system of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
There, I collaborate with associations, coaching academies, and Olympic training centers, developing structures for talent identification and athlete development – and bring this expertise directly into my coaching.

Over 30 years in sports, including 20 years as an active athlete and 13 years as a coach at the Olympic Training Center in Schwerin.
Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sports Science at the European University of Applied Sciences for Sport and Management in Potsdam.
